This year's event is going to be held in the Buffalo Cookout Shelter at Niobrara State Park. A yearly or daily Nebraska State Park permit will be required. The even starts at 9:00 a.m. with sign in and downloading of new caches. The park has been working on clearing some of the invasive cedar trees so there will be a variety of new caches, and some of the old favorite caches, so there will be something for everyone. Some caches require hiking and some are an easy walk but they will add up to a fun day! Please remember to bring your bug spray and sunscreen. Please return to the shelter at noon with a sack lunch. Prize drawing will be at 12:30 p.m. The event will end at 3 p.m.
There is a buffalo cookout in the park at 6:00 p.m. for a fee. You will need to register at the park office for the buffalo cookout before noon the day of the event. There is also free entertainment after the buffalo cookout for anyone to enjoy.
We are also planning an event the night before on July 15th. "S'mores with the Doerrs" Watch for this cache at a later date.
Camping is available in the park. Call 402-857-3373 to check availability.
