Payback! (Circular Reasoning) Mystery Cache

Sometimes something seems so simple.  The cache located here previously used what seemed like a very elementary form of columnar addition, but it seemed to stump EVERY one, so that I soon realized that no one was actually SOLVING the puzzle;  they were just calling those who had found it.  Well, now it's gone!  Good luck using that technique on THIS puzzle!

I'm a pretty simple kind of guy, so the high-tech puzzles that some of you, especially ONE of you, comes up with are VERY frustrating to many of us.  I drive around doing my work, and things are rolling around in my head:  "HOW can I come up with a challenging puzzle for someone so CLEVER?", and "What have I never seen before that might have them chasing their tail in frustration?".
