Scotland in Shipley (West Yorkshire) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

leecee: Sadly , this one has gone again. The area around the cache is heavily used by rock climbers, and the container has been logged as missing, and replaced ,on a few occasions so it is time for it to be honourably retired, after 8 years.
However, Mark's memory lives on in a new cache placed not too far away.
Many thanks to all those who have visited this one over the years.

Geocache Description:

A scenic cache at Shipley Glen, West Yorkshire.

This cache was originally placed by Mark "TheCat" Thompson - a good friend, dedicated cacher and founder of geocacheuk.com who sadly passed away in September 2004. It has since been adopted by LeeCee and is dedicated to Mark's memory.

The cache is located in a rocky area towards the top end of the Glen with plenty of free car parking close by. While the terrain is not difficult, the rocks can and do get slippery when wet so watch your step and in particular keep an eye out if you have any children joining in the search.

You are looking for a clear snaplock plastic box containing the log book and a selection of goodies to trade.

Once you've found the cache there's plenty to see and do on the Glen so why not stay a while and ride the famous Glen Tramway, visit the countryside centre or refresh yourself in the cosy pub.

Shipley Glen was one of Mark's favourite places and I hope you enjoy it.
