People pull off here to enjoy the beautiful views across the Sunset View Cemetary, the Bay and out through the Golden Gate to the Pacific.
The parking is unrestricted here so if you would like you can leave the car and continue walking south about .2 mile along Franciscan Way. Watch out for cars, as there is no sidewalk here. At the end of Franciscan Way you will come across two places of interest.
First up is the Sunset View Cemetary cache GC4YG0G. This cache was my first find in September 2015, and it was also Br0tat0's first hide.
Second, if you walk to the right through the gate, a short walk will take you to the Sunset Mausoleum and Columbarium. It is not affiliated with the Cemetary. The mausoleum was built in 1927, on 7 acres that the association purchased from the cemetary. This amazing building, which is often visible from across the Bay, is very peaceful, a tad macabre, and full of interesting sights. Free feel to pay it a visit and wander around.
When placed, the cache contained a green ninja alien, a mini-cloissonné landscape and, in a baggie, a real amethyst for the FTF! The replacement container cannot hold anything but the log.
Congratulations to BerkeleyBoomers for their FTF!
