Separated by men and women, we were scrubbed by strong but friendly workers using the Marrocan “Savon beldi” and hammam-gloves we bought at the Medina before. They also stretched our lazy bodies :-) After a nice chat with the owner he showed us how they heat the Hammam-floor that is build up by antiseptic salt and marble.
Unbelievable ...
... we felt back to the Roman period and looked how that Hammam floor is heated by Olive-wood. He allowed us to install a Geocache so I can give the Geocache-Community an uncommon view at the “backstage” of a Hammam. Just log the cache and if you want, just ask to have an additional look at the stove-chamber at the back of that building. As that cache needs assistance it is only open from 0700-2200.
