Dr. F.X. Van Lieshout served the village for over 40 years. The nearby park was named in his honor. Dr Van was a good friend of my grandfather, 'Fuzzy' Vandenberg. They went fishing together every Wednesday. Dr Van was also an old fashioned doctor. If you went to see him for a problem, you told him only what the problem was. You did NOT tell him what you thought was causing the problem!
