Geocache Description:

This is a series based on the ancient Irish townland system and while the places chosen may seem a little random, they all mean something to me.

A small plastic container with only a log so BYOP. Parking is possible at GZ but please pull well in off the road to avoid becoming an obstruction. Please return exactly where found.

The Townland of Tirnascobe is in the Parish of Kildarton in the Barony of Oneilland West in The County Of Armagh.
The name probably comes from the Gaelic name 'Tir na Scuab' which means 'Land of the Brooms'.
It measures 539.11 acres making it the 123rd largest townland in County Armagh.
It is bordered by Altaturk, Annaclare, Drumbee Beg, Kilmachugh, Mullaghbane, Mullanasilla, and Mullyloughran.
Features include Kildarton Parish Church and Kildarton Orange Hall.

Tirnascobe has been chosen because it is the townland where my Nana and Granda moved to when they built a new bungalow there many years ago. Granda sadly passed away last year but Nana is still there and Mum's youngest brother has also recently built a lovely new house having moved from Hamiltonsbawn.
