Cache Location

The cache is hidden at a corner of Heretaunga Park, near the gravel walkway that bridges the Hutt River Trail and Heretaunga Park. The well used gravel trail runs along the SW boundary of the Royal Wellington Golf Club's hole 2 and 3, and beware, it is well used by walkers, runners and cyclists.

Background

New Zealand has had numerous unexplained UFO sightings over the years; the following is a report from locals who saw a flying ball of light near this Game Zone in Upper Hutt in 2013.

Witness Report:

Date: Between 1-8 June 2013
Time: Approximately 5:00 pm
Location: Upper Hutt, Wellington, NZ.
Conditions: Cloudy sky with no wind.
Duration of sighting: Approximately 3-4 minutes.
Features/charcteristics: Slow moving ball of orange/red light.

In the first week of June, the prime witness observed a bright orange/red ball of light north of his position heading in a southerly direction. As he continued to watch the light, several people and their children joined him to also observe the light as it moved across the sky on a somewhat erratic flight pattern. The relative size of the object (if observed at arms length) was a bit bigger than a tennis ball but smaller than a plate, and it had no associated noise. The witness believed it was definitely not an aircraft, helicopter, or Chinese lantern. The light maintained a constant brilliancy, and subsequently was observed to blink once and then disappeared into cloud.

Please report any unexplainable sightings to UFO Focus New Zealand Research Network (UFOCUS NZ)
Take care of the "greenery" and replace the cache as found. Enjoy!
