Geocache Description:

It's the scenery and the adventure.

This-soiled, triangular ares is the Cane County Highway Department's first attempt to bring prairie vegetation back to roadsides. In June 1975, 5000 prairie seedlings and twenty pounds of grass and wildflower seeds - 46 species in all - were hand planted here. The Prairie Heritage Trail ends at this high ridge, with an extensive view of Mount Horeb, the Blue Mounds, and most of southwestern Dane County. Follow the Prairie Heritage Trail through the seasons as the prairie and woods are constantly changing and the view is never the same.
