Watch for kangaroos on the roads as you drive to the site. Take binoculars. There are some great views down to the salt lakes at Cavan. Definitely 2WD access but please take care.
SOME HISTORY OF THIS CACHE:
In March, 2013, two men were disturbed as they buried drugs on the side of the road near the corner of Richardson Road. Several millions of dollars worth of drugs were seized and two men were arrested.
In August, 2013, The Police searched the area again and dug up $85 MILLION worth of drugs that had been buried on the sides of the road through here. During their investigation they found this geocache. Thankfully, they left the cache in place, but left a note in it saying,
"You got us all excited, we thought we'd found buried drugs! The Police."
Thanks must go to the nearby landowners, John and Marlene, who keep an eye on this cache for us!
January 2015
The horrific fires that ravaged this area also burnt this cache to ashes. We have replaced the cache and hope it will last another thirteen and a half years!
As the fire was so hot, absolutely all vegetation was burned, so please help us keep this cache going by covering it well as you leave so that it is hidden from passersby.
