Tucked away from the common passerby, you will find this little pull off in front of Oak Grove Cemetery. The cache is located before the entrance to this cemetery, so you will not need to trespass to achieve it. This v-shaped cemetery which is 1 acre and 23 rods is one of the oldest African American cemetery in this area. purchased June 15th, 1901. A lot of the headstones in here were carved by hand with a chisel. Unfortunately, the "No Trespassing" signs preclude investigating this historic, interesting site.
When Ibiwacko left the area and put his caches up for adoption I asked to adopt this one for a matter of personal history. Back in the '70s through early '80s Mickie, my late wife, and I competed in a lot of road rallies. The ones that were on the Penninsula often ended with a DIY (Do it Yourself) leg that began here at the end of the timed portion of the event. The road this cemetery is on was known as "Check Point Alley" as there are three good control locations, both going east and west, on the road. I can't tell you how many times we came into this parking area, knowing that the end was in sight.
To find the cache select the correct answer to this question.
If Grandpa Gene first discovered this cemetery while attending a funeral for a friend, the cache is located in a tree between the posted co-ordinates and the "No Trespassing sign." If he first discovered this cemetery competeing in a road rallye, look on the big green box.
That was a surprise! First I learn that a cache submitted three hours ago is published and then 15 minutes later, it's found! Congrats to KWrightVA for a rather amazing FTF! Keep it up!
