THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES!
This cache is intended as a challenge, and as such I please ask that you solve the puzzles and stages yourself. There is an ignore feature built into the geocaching website for anyone who wants this off their map, but is unable to complete it. Please use this as opposed to cheating the intended challenge. Please do not put spoilers in your log, if you do they will be deleted. I have not made this request on any of my other many puzzles, and can only ask that you please respect these requests in this instance. If you are having trouble with this, please feel free to message me, as I will give hints after FTF.
This cache will have several challenges, but I have made it only minimally challenging physically. There are only short walks from parking, and a little bit of grade at several stages. The same will not be said for the mental challenge. There are multiple layers of puzzles to crack simply to get the coordinates for stage 1. THE RESCUE OF GEOCACHER X
As you may have heard, Geocacher X was one of the Lehigh Valley’s premier cache hiders. He collected thousands of favorite points before his caches all mysteriously got archived. Some believed he moved to another area, some believed he got tired of cache maintenance, while others feared that something much worse may have happened…
I was one of those with suspicions, for something didn’t seem right. In the weeks since the disappearance of X, and his caches, I had noticed changes in another cacher, Decer. He seemed to wear a constant smirk of self-satisfaction that normally only came from completing a 5/5, but this was something different, and something more.
Then, it happened… I awoke one morning, and found I had received a message from X himself, sent in the middle of the night.
Rush, I’ve been taken captive by Decer. He found the number of nano caches I’ve been hiding recently to be totally unacceptable, and finally snapped. He came out to where I was hiding the last part of a multi-cache, beat me up, and chained me in place. Once a day he comes by to charge my phone, bring me a slice of heavenly pizza, and force me to write logs for all the caches he has found that day. That’s not where my woes end unfortunately… Decer has deleted all the music on my phone except for The Ballad of the Bouncing Piger, and a hundred listens later I can’t stand it anymore. He’s also put a program on my phone that sorts through any messages that I send out that would give even the slightest hint to my location and keeps them from sending. I’ve made multiple attempts to contact many people of my whereabouts, but have not been able to get past the program. If you are reading this it’s because I’ve finally succeeded in devising a puzzle devious enough that it has fooled the program. Part of the deception was sending people to the place where I started my cache, as opposed to my current location. From there you can work through the steps I had in place to find the final container… ME! Please share my message below with other cachers so that I can be found! I started off with a cipher I know you’re fond of!
