Mt Anakie Traditional Cache

Mt Anakie fire tower is used to spot any sign of smoke before it gets bigger. The tower is located South West to this cache. Even though you can't get up to it you are still able to see it and some of the view. A systema container with log, pencil and tradables.

Mt Anakie fire tower is a 3.4 meter high tower located on Mt Anakie. These towers are used on certain coded days where someone will man it and keep a 360 degree eye on the area for signs of smoke. It is a 3.45 x 3.45m cabin. If smoke is spotted it gets called in and appropriate brigades are paged to go and see what it is and try and stop it from spreading. These towers are very important in getting brigades onto fires before they get to dangerous sizes. Take a look around, enjoy the views. Stay safe geocachers!
