Cache-tech: Greetings from Geocaching.com

I have had no contact with the cache owner since my last note and there has been no notes posted to the cache page in that time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future. If you do not plan on replacing/repairing your cache, please CITO any remains returning the site to the original state before you placed your cache.

Geocache Description:

Grand Manan's first Geocache, appropriately located along the rocky coastline. Look for it off the red trail, just down from the Swallowtail Lighthouse.

The walk over to the hidden spot requires some climbing over and on large rocks, so be careful they could be slippery. You will have to climb up on to the large rocks to access the enterance to the 'hole in the ground'. Take care.

It appears that the price of placing this cache here is the chance of it getting wet. As Red Witch noted even the log book in a ziplock bag was soaked.

So once again I've replaced this cache with a new container and contents. The container is another peanut butter jar with a green top. In August I think I'll move this cache to higher ground. When I do I'll note the new coordinates here.

The cache is located within the Hole In The Wall Park, but the owner assured me that if you enter from the Swallowtail trailhead there is no charge for hikers to use the trail.

The coordinates have a ±4.1 meter margin of error so take the hint along if you get stuck.

Don't forget to sign the log book.
