Old Stone Chimney Traditional Cache

We brought our caching grandson on this trail to show him what was left of  old Port McNeill and thought it would be a great place for a cache.  There were about eighteen  houses along here, in what was known as 'Dogpatch'.  The last resident lived here until 1995.

All that is left of our family home is an old stone chimney,  steps, and a rock planter.  During the early sixties, Renato Birolini and his family arrived in Port McNeill from Italy.  It was he who used his skills as a stone mason to build them before he left to go back to the Old Country.
