The views across the Bristol Channel and the surrounding area are spectacular from this spot. On a clear day the Welsh coast and Brecon Beacons beyond can be seen. Looking left down the channel, the Lighthouse at Nash Point makes a distinctive feature, to its left is Swansea Bay and you may just make out Rossilli Down and Wurms Head on the furthest visible western tip of the Welsh coast line. To the East, looking up the Channel you may clearly see Flat Holme Island nearest the Welsh coast and its neighbour Steep Holme Island which is closer to the English side of the Bristol Channel. On very clear days it is possible to see the second Severn Crossing Bridge.
The Bristol Channel has one of the highest tidal ranges in the world. The shipping traffic of the Bristol Channel is never far from view, large container ships are often seen in the Channel waiting for the tide to continue their journey into port.
