Nocturnal Pursuit of the Eyes of Alba Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Sequoia: This was one of my favorite night cache designs but it had a few flaws and due to The trail on this one continues to get over grown and requires more maintenance than I can offer. And one of Alba’s arms fell off so, Today, Alba 2 was born. The new and improved night cache is in place and ready for writing and publication. Stay tuned for Alba 2 or something like that.

Geocache Description:

Night Cache!!!! You will need a FlashLight. I also suggest a hiking stick or trekking poles for this hike. This cache requires navigation of steep slopes, a creek crossing, and forested areas at night. Any other geo tools you usually carry might come in handy as always. Oh, and BYOP <p>

There is a code on the final container needed to start the Third Night Cache. Make sure to copy it down

After finding the trailhead, walk uphill and the Eyes of Texas will be upon you. As usual with Night Caches, you are following a trail of breadcrumbs ( fire tacks ) on trees as high as I can reach. <p>

one Eye= continue in the general direction you are going <p>

two Eyes= an abrupt change of direction <p>

two Eyes moving= most likely a deer, follow if you want but good luck finding the cache <p>

Smiley Tree= Start searching <p>

The trail should be easy to follow but somewhat tough to hike. When you find the Eyes of the Alba ( you will know ), He will welcome you with open arms. While standing on the uphill side of the giant, project a waypoint 176' away @ 312˚degrees and there you will find 2 trees you wouldn't want to climb even if you are being chased by wolves. From this point you can see the trail and you are almost there and your prize is waiting. The final is no walk in the park though. Once again, Make sure to record the code

I hid these with 3" of snow on the ground so it can be done in any condition. Use hiking stick or trekking poles if muddy... There is a hiking trail near the end. I added a couple zig zag's at the end to throw off muggles from finding the Treasure.
