Baan Kang Wat Traditional Cache

This is a micro cache located just outside the market area.  Please bring your own pen and please replace the cache where you found it!  One of the best times to visit this cache is Sunday mornings from 8:30am onwards, when the vibrant local market is running.

Baan Kang Wat is an Artists village and market set in the beautiful Pong Noi area of Chiang mai.  Calling itself a ‘craft village’, Baan Kang Wat is made up of around 10 unique houses, centered around an outdoor communal area and amphitheater.

Although only opened recently in mid-2014, Baan Kang Wat has already played host to a number of different local activities and community events, such as several photography exhibits, an art and sculpture show produced by art students from the nearby Chiang Mai University, and a weeklong film festival which saw a number of local food and arts and crafts stalls come and set up shop, creating a carnival type atmosphere. It also organizes community gardening, craft workshops and art markets.
