Third in a series of quick events for no reason other than we can!
I'll try to make them all at an interesting or historical place, as close to at least one cache as possible and not too far away from a pub!
This one's the statue of Peter Wright on the former site of Colchester United Footbal Ground. In 2015 a bronze statue of Peter Wright (who played over 400 games from 1952 to 1964 and was voted the U's greatest player by supporters in 2000) was unveiled by his widow Lindsey and Sir Bob Russell MP to commemorate his career, the fact that the site was home to Colchester United for seventy years and the supporters' ashes that were scattered on the pitch. The statue was made by local artist Mandy Pratt and cast at Butterfly Bronze Foundry in Romford by Will Hayes.
Meet at the coords any time between 7:00pm and 7:30pm, we'll have a group photo at 7:25pm then off home (sorry, no pubs close by…but it is an interesting spot)!
The nearest cache is The Good Old Days (GC5MBEX), which is extremely close by!
The usual trackable bucket will be in attendance. [:-)]
There's limited street parking in Layer Road (please don't drive into the estate).
