The Fires of Hell Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

cervisvenator: Hi

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

(This reviewer note is in English so non-Norwegian cache owners, geocachers and cache reviewers can understand what it says.)

Thanks for your understanding,
Cervis Venator

Geocache Description:

Nesten en drive-in for kollektivtransport-folket!

Almost a drive-in for people on public transport!

The area Helsfyr named after Helsfyr farm, formerly known as Hellsvær. Oluf Rygh in Norske Gaardnavne sets forth a theory that the name comes from the German: Hölles-Feuer (Shingles, lit. hellfire). The area has blurred borders to adjoining districts, Strømsveien divides the area into two, and north of the road it is largely commercial and residential buildings, and Østre Gravlund and Hellsfyr Station to the south.
Hellsfyr station is a hub for bus and Metro North and Northeast with heavy traffic. Besides many buses on Strømsveien, it is connected to the metro trains 1, 2, 3, and 4. This is the last station on the common stretch east. The station also houses Vitamin Torget [sic] with fruits, vegetables and exotic spices.
