Geocache Description:

This is a series based on the ancient Irish townland system and while the places chosen may seem a little random, they all mean something to me.

A 35mm film cannister with only a log so BYOP. Parking is possible close to GZ but please pull well in off the road to avoid becoming an obstruction. Please return exactly where found.

The Townland of Mullalelish is in the Parish of Kilmore in the Barony of Oneilland West in The County Of Armagh.
The name probably comes from the Gaelic name 'Mullach lis' which means 'Hilltop of the Fort'.
It measures 622.49 acres making it the 94th largest townland in County Armagh.
It is bordered by Ballybreagh, Ballyleny, Ballyloughran, Ballynahinch and Mulladry.

Mullalelish has been chosen because it is the townland where I bought my second car (and the first with my own hard earned money!), a Rover Metro GTI. With my wee Mini rusting away on me and with working full time, it was time to change to something more sporty. It was bought privately from a man on the Mullalelish Road and I'll never forget the first test drive! Fell in love with it there and then and spent a few happy years spinning about the country before a fateful night in Belfast. It was 1997 and we were in the Ulster Hall for an epic Delirious? concert only to come out and find that some lout had stolen my precious Metro! Gutted doesn't even start to describe how I felt. Our uncle Dessie came to Belfast to bring us home and the following day, the police reported that it had been found burnt out in the Poleglass estate. A sad end to a fantastic little car.
