This geocache is placed near both the River Mersey and the now disused St Helens Canal - disused as a canal but not as a lively boat yard and the Fiddlers Ferry Yacht Haven & Club. Given the nautical connection and the presence of two navigable waterways we decided to name this cache after the theme-tune played after the late night shipping forecast - Sailing By
The cache is just outside the perimeter of the Yacht Club and adjacent to one of the two locks between the River Mersey and the St Helens Canal. Be careful, deep water abounds and the drop to the Mersey is a long one - keep children (and pets) supervised (or under close control). This is a popular area for walkers, sailors and boat-yard folk - so beware of muggles.
