Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Dave Peel Park in beautiful downtown Bentonville. There is plenty of parking available and it can be accessed 24 hours per day. While you're in the area be sure to check out the Bentonville Square and all of the shops are restaurants in the area.

Interesting story behind this one. While visiting with a co-worker at the Benton County Administration building one evening I happened to look at one of the light posts and thought to myself, “That would be a good place for a cache.” Out of curiosity I lifted the skirt just to make sure there was room for a cache and to my amazement someone had already placed one here but didn't publish it. My guess is that it was hidden by a member of the Benton County Search and Rescue Team as there was some of their swag located in the container. Due to placement guidelines the cache has been moved to Dave Peel Park which is adjacent to the Benton County Administration building. It still contains the swag from the original hide. I hope you enjoy your time in downtown Bentonville as much as I do every day. Good hunting!
