Across the street from this cache you will see the east side of the Montgomery County Courthouse.
Montgomery County was established in 1837 - the third county to be established after the birth of the Republic of Texas. When first created, Montgomery County included the current counties of Grimes, Madison, San Jacinto, Walker, and Waller counties. The cities of Montgomery, Willis, and Conroe have each served as the Montgomery County seat at some point in the history of Montgomery County.
The present courthouse in Conroe was constructed in 1936 and designed by Houston architect Joseph Finger, who also designed the 1939 Houston City Hall and other buildings. Originally the top floor was a jail, used until 1965 when the original courthouse was remodeled and the two-story additions were added on the north and south sides with a parking garage beneath. A small, square, numberless clock sits in the middle of the east and west sides at the roofline.
A very high muggle area during business hours in the work week and parking may be difficult at these times. Hunting this cache is recommended in the later evenings and weekends, at which time this cache becomes a park and grab.
