Geocache Description:

Intramuros (Spanish, "within the walls") is the oldest district and historic core of Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Also called the Walled City, it was the original city of Manila and was the seat of government when the Philippines was a component realm of the Spanish Empire. Districts beyond the walls were referred as the extramuros of Manila, meaning "outside the walls".

As an attempt to reintroduce the wherigo cache to Philippines and the leap day is fast approaching, I have designed this wherigo as a simple field puzzle multi type along Intramuros.

The tour guide Isko will accompany you in your exploration of this historic city and in the end of your journey, you will seek your smiley reward. Probably this is the first wherigo cache in the Philippines and I was inspired creating one when I finished - GC5E709 - Poirot meets Waterloo and the owner ZacharyKZH. Hope you can try this when you visit Philippines.

Wherigo caches are interactive GPS-device based games which can be quite a lot of fun if you willing to learn the ropes. As long as you have a GPS-enabled device, like a smartphone (Apple and Android), a few models of Garmin GPSr or Pocket PC, you will be able to run the cartridge. The following is a step-by-step guide on what to do:

1.) If you have an Apple device, such as an iPad or an iPhone, you can download this free Wherigo app. Android phone users will have to download this (also) free app, called Whereyougo, for their devices. Garmin GPSr should already have the application pre-installed.

2.) Ensure that the Location Services in your device is enabled. This can usually be found in the "Settings > Privacy > Location Services" for Apple devices. Be sure to set it to "On".

3.) Once the application has been installed, be sure to give it authorization to log onto your Geocaching Account. This is found somewhere in the app (under "Search" for Wherigo and "Settings > Global" in Whereyougo).

4.)Download the game catridge from the Wherigo website. It's completely free. You can download it directly into your device, or through an external computer and transfer it later. Once the cartridge is downloaded into your device, just pick "Run with Wherigo/Whereyougo" if prompted, and the cartridge name should appear in the application immediately.

5.) If the download is successful, you should see this:

6.) Tap the cartridge name, and a brief description of the cartridge will appear, as such:

7.) Hit 'PLAY' and the game will start. If you halted the app in the middle of the game, you can return back to 'RESUME' it.

Note: Screenshots used came from IPhone app, other devices like Android or Garmin might have a different playing screen. My brother geocacher tested this cartridge and working fine.

Watch out for the nearest cache as you will pass by it. All locations where permitted from the nearby security guard. The pit stops will play when you are 8-10 meters away from the landmark. The landmark is always the title of the pit stop so its an extra clue if you are having difficulty due to GPS issues.

As this is a geocache you will still need to find a physical container in the final location even the wherigo was already finished. Web logs may be deleted if you did not signed the log sheet. I will be checking it from time to time.

Earliest person who will find this cache and attend the leap day event GC69CNH will receive a reward (inactive travel bug) from me during the event.

Happy Wherigo-ing!
