Geocache Description:

Tautogram.. Noun (plural tautograms).. A text in which all words start with the same letter (but not necessarily the same sound).. Origin Ancient Greek tauto gramma, "same letter".. English Wiktionary. Available under CC-BY-SA license. Read more at http://www.yourdictionary.com/tautogram#bM0Lb04ojtRl3BGP.99.

If you can use the letter "R" in a creative way for your log, either as a tautogram or by using the letter "R" frequently, that would be awesome!

Pictures also welcome. It's OK to take pictures of the sign. Selfies with the sign would be awesome!!

With Red being the color of danger, I Request that you Refrain from Road Rage by Recreating Recourse to this Road sign.

One day as I was driving along this road, I noticed the color red as I was driving. It was around a speed limit sign. When I got home, I researched this and found an interesting study about speed limit signs. If you are interested, here is the link:

https://ceprofs.civil.tamu.edu/ghawkins/Thesis_Proposals/Proposal-thesis.Garg.pdf

In reduced speed zones, where no other cues indicate the need to slow down, drivers sometimes fail to notice the standard Speed Limit sign and may be speeding inadvertently. To help reduce inadvertent speeding, a red border was installed around the Speed Limit sign in seven reduced speed areas and the impacts of the increased conspicuity on speed limit compliance were measured.

I'm wondering if this sign was included in that study as I've never seen one before.

A comparison of the thesis study with other similar studies found in literature shows comparable benefits of the red border sign with other speed management measures. Based on the results for long-term effects, use of the red border Speed Limit sign is recommended in reduced speed zones where inadvertent speeding is common.

Red Equals Danger

The colour red catches people’s attention and can often be represented as a dangerous colour. Several studies have been carried out as to why we have such strong feelings on the colour red, but nothing has been proven yet.

No matter what the scientific reasoning is behind the meaning of the colour red, it attracts motorist’s attention and has been in use to warn wary travellers of the dangers that are ahead on the road network.

This is the first ever speed limit sign that I have seen that is like this one.

Safe travels and Cache on!
