The view to the Northeast provide a glimpse of the southern part of the Springbok Flats, named after large herds of springbok antelope which roamed here a 100 years ago. It forms part of the Bushveld Complex, consisting mainly of granite, granophyre and similar rocks.
The mountain range in the distance is the Waterberg, consisting of reddish-brown coloured sandstones between 1 800 and 1 600 million years old.
The 2 050 million year old Bushveld Complex is one of the largest magmatic formations in the world and is famous for its mineral wealth.
