Geocache Description:

Have you ever wanted to take a safari and see the wilds of Africa? Have you ever wanted to see the Big Five up close and personal? Well, here's a chance to find the Big Five in your own back yard. The concession is 650 square kilometers, so it is not your typical power series!!!

"Big Five Safari" is a series of caches named after African animals, with the final goal of finding the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Cape Buffalo, Elephant and Rhinoceros). There are 50 caches in the series, 45 traditional and 5 mystery. Clues for the five mystery caches (the Big Five), are hidden amongst the series. Of course, the Lion (King of beasts), is the hardest to find....You will need to find the four other Big Five first...

The 45 traditional caches are all micros or small L&L and for the most part, are winter friendly and easy to find. The Big Five are regular caches. No need to cross any fences, and the majority of the caches are park and grab!

A Dik-dik is a small antelope about the size of a small dog! They live in the bushlands of Africa and are named for the alarm calls of the females. Both the male and female make a shrill, whistling sound. See related web page.

Madoqua kirkii - male (Namutoni)

Good Luck and Enjoy your Safari!!!!

P.S. Caution should be taken in approching any of these animals. Be careful with the terrain at all times....

Congratulations to Ninja Fairies for the FTF!!!!
