Geocache Description:

SLINGSHOT

Slingshots date back to 1839 and was patented in 1844. For much of their early history, slingshots were a "do-it-yourself" item. Typically they are made from a forked branch to form the "Y" shaped handle, with rubber strips sliced from items as inner tubes or other sources of good vulcanized rubber and firing suitably sized stones.

Commercially made slingshots date back to at least 1918, with the introduction of the Zip-Zip, a cast iron model, it was not until the post WW II years saw a surge in the popularity, and legitimacy of slingshots. They were still primarily a home-built proposition.

At GZ you should see the perfect base for a large slingshot. The correct projectiles (shape and size) is of utmost importance for success.

Please bring your own pen, and use stealth as not to jeopordise the hide.

It is possible to drive to within 20 metres from GZ.

It might not be safe to attempt this cache after dark.
