Plean Country Park is a lovely park on the outskirts of Stirling and is surprisingly bigger than it looks on the maps. There are many trails around the park and it is a great place to go for a walk with many lovely forest areas and a great kids play park. Caches are placed with the kind permission of Jennifer Davidson and Alan Petrie of the Countryside Ranger team from Stirling Council.
These two ponds are in the middle of the dip between the two bings that the park was built around. It is quite well hidden and easy to miss if walking round the main paths. If you are a competent mountain biker on technical trails then this whole series can be reached by bike. I did it to double check the co-ords of all the caches after some of the opening weekend logs and it was great fun! Please note most of the caches in this series are in heavily wooded areas which sends the GPS a bit loopy. I've been out with my phone and my Garmin hillwalking GPS to try to get it as accurate as possible. The cache is slightly off the path up the slope from the ponds and is a small clic fresh tub in a camouflage bag.
Congrats to Nirikina for FTF!
