All the Whistle Stop Caches that I have placed are in honour of my late father who was a railway man his whole life.
In his time in the Eastern Cape, in the 1960's, he would have surely had something to do with this line as the section from Sunland to Kirkwood was 7 January 1927 to service the booming Citrus Industry. It is such a pity that so much of the railway infrastructure in this area has gone to waste.
