"Wichita Lineman" was wrote by Jimmy Webb and recorded by Glen Campbell in 1968. It has been covered numerous times, but Glen's version will always be the standard. It is ranked number 195 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Songs Of All Time and is named on many other Greatest Songs of the 20th Century lists. It has been referred to as "one of those rare songs that seems somehow to exist in a world of its own – not just timeless but ultimately outside of modern music" and also as "the first existential country song".
