It's been more than 4 years since I bought a one-way ticket to Vietnam and left my beloved Seattle to become a perpetual expat (archiving/adopting out my 20+ globalgirl hides). I've since traveled all over Asia, and 2 years ago jumped to the other side of the globe (and down, beneath the Equator) to the tippy-top of an 8,000+ ft. mountain in the Andes - here to my new (utterly enchanting) home in Cuenca, Ecuador (a UNESCO World Heritage site).
But it wasn't until my dear Seattle geochum, Dayspring flew down here to visit me that inspired this, my first hide in Ecuador. I mean, what could be more fun than cooking up a hide with one of the most ingenious hiders in this world-wide game of hide 'n seek?
Tucked along the gurgling Rio Tomebamba (one of four stunning rivers that encircle this mountain city) just steps outside of "El Centro" the historic center of Cuenca - logging this cache will require a bit of work to access the logbook.
YOU DO NOT NEED ANY SPECIAL TOOLS to get to the geo-joy, but you'll definitely want to stay well hydrated on your quest.
Note: The ideal method of retrieving the log requires no brute force. Whatever you do, do not destroy/break any part of this cache. Please do not give hints/spoilers in your found it log.
