I've always enjoyed this area. My dad hauled lumber out of this mill in the late 1980s.
This is the entrance to the Wetsel-Oviatt Lumber Mill.
Wetsel-Oviatt Lumber Co. closed in October 2003 The family-owned lumber company said that it would close its doors after 64 years in business, brought down by the high cost of regulation and workers' compensation insurance price increases. The owners decided to sell the assets to pay off creditors. The mill employed 120 people. http://www.bizjournals.com/sacramento/stories/2003/10/13/daily9.html
