When people think of Heavy Metal they picture a bunch of long haired guys with a ton of hair spray, women's make up and wearing skin tight Zebra Pants but that was not for me!! The kind of bands I like wear plain jeans and t-shirts. This Series is not technically Heavy Metal per sa, it's more like heavy guitar crunching music which was all spawned from the term "Heavy Metal".
Now let's go back 30+ years ago to the 1980's when the masses were listening to bands dressed in hot pink and wearing eye liner like Motley Crew, Poison, Ratt, Cinderella etc. I was introduced to the subgenre called Thrash Metal from a cassette my friend gave to me. Bands like Slayer, Metallica, Death Angel, Anthrax, Metal Church, Cryptic Slaughter etc. It blew me away and sucked me in all at once. I LOVED IT! !!
It was also the time that Hardcore Punk was ruling the underground with bands like Black Flag, Minor Threat, The Exploited, Misfits and Suicidal Tenencies.
So next time you feel like Rocking out or need to release some stress. Put on Metallica - Master of Puppets or The Exploited - Troops of Tomorrow and you'll be fine!
