Geocache Description:

Where: Crane's Pond Wildlife Management area, J.B. Little Road, Groveland, MA When: Sunday, April 17, 2016, noon - 4:00 pm (rain or shine)

*** UPDATE *** The Groveland side of JB Little Rd is flooded out again, the same as last year. You can still drive through the water if you choose...but I would NOT do it in a car, only a high riding SUV...however, I do NOT suggest you to do this! ***Please come in from the West Newbury end of J.B. Little Road. If you use your car GPS to find us, put in: "Georgetown Rd, West Newbury", and follow it down to the very end, which will turn into JB Little Rd at the Groveland border. *** >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Why: 2016 CITO Weekend Event! The event will introduce (or re-introduce) people to this beautiful wildlife area and provide an opportunity for participants to assist with some much needed clean-up. How: This area combines wetlands and wooded trails, so please dress appropriately for the clean-up. There are no rest rooms here, so plan ahead. We will provide water, snacks and garbage bags (but more of anything is always welcome). Please bring any of the following to help in the clean-up: - garbage bags - rubber gloves / work gloves - rope, prybars, shovels - plastic sleds work well at dragging items out to the road - hip waders / waterproof footwear- shovels / rakes / prybars Event will be held rain or shine, so bring raingear if needed. We would welcome any level of participation. Come dressed ready to work, or just stop by and introduce yourself. We look forward to seeing you!! Who: EVERYONE!!!!! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Announcing the 2016 CITO Week, April 16-24,2016. Get ready for a classic win-win situation from the geocaching playbook: lend a hand to improve the geocaching game board (a local park, trail, or geocaching-friendly location) and earn the 2016 CITO souvenir. It’s easy and rewarding. It all happens during the 2016 CITO Week of April 16-24. Everyone who logs an “Attended” at a Cache In Trash Out (CITO) Event earns this year’s CITO souvenir for their Geocaching profile. During a CITO Event, geocachers search parks, trails and forests to earn a smiley—but they’re not looking for geocaches---they’re clearing litter and trash from geocaching-friendly areas around the world. During CITO Week, thousands of geocachers will walk away from their events with bags of trash and a sense of pride. They’re preserving the natural beauty of our world! Join the geocaching community movement. See you in April for the 2016 CITO Week! *** Look for the red tent set up for sign-in and to get trash bags. This is also the same location for all the trash to be brought to for the town highway dept to pick up. *** There is very little space on this road for cars to pass one another. You can park anywhere you'd like on the side of the road, but please pull off the road as much as you can for other cars to pass. There are only 2 parking areas, the larger of the 2 will be used for the red sign-in tent and trash dumping. The other lot will be the first lot you will come to on the right side of the road when you come in from West Newbury. However, this lot is rather small. ***** Please note that J.B. Little Road is now gated off at both ends due to poor road conditions and road side dumping that has taken place. The police Department is unlocking the gates for us to CITO this area. ******
