Geocache Description:

#11 Drug Alphabet Series

This series combines two of my favourite "hobbies" - drugs and geocaching. It will inform you about some drugs ie. medicines that you may come across in your lifetime, treating a wide range of medical conditions; and also take you to some interesting places on the Sunshine Coast that you may not have been to before.

Ketoconazole (C26H28Cl2N4O4) is used to treat fungal infections such as, tinea, candidiasis, pityriasis versicolour and seborrhoeic dermatitis. It is an imidazole antifungal which inhibits fungal growth by impairing biosynthesis of ergosterol required for the cell membrane. Ketoconazole is only available in topical form (cream and shampoo) now in Australia, the oral tablets being discontinued in 2013 due to the risk of serious liver injury outweighing its benefit. Ketoconazole was discovered in 1976 by Janssen pharmaceuticals, the same year that this company began a business in China, becoming the first western pharmaceutical company to do so.

The cache is a nano hidden in a busy business carpark. You will not easily find a park here during daylight on a weekday. Be stealthy to protect the integrity of the hide and please don’t drop it down a drain or something….

Too small for swaps or FTF prize.

CONGRATULATIONS to Cassow11ry on FTF !!!
