Easter Egg Event of 2016 Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

cdparker1: According to the logs, there were 23 "Will Attends" and 23 "Attended" logs so it should be ok to archive this one. Granted, there could be somebody that has posted neither, but fret not, you can always log the event even when it is archived.

The first "thank you" goes out to the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy for letting us share their property with all of you.

The next one goes out to "Mom" for all the help that she provides for this annual event.

The third/fourth/sixth go out to Lord Scoville, gworol, and RenMin for their prize donations.

The seventh would be for hikecycletri for a coin/bug swap/donation and for helping us clean up once the weather turned sour.

The eighth would include any and all that donated to our cause as it is greatly appreciated.

23 thank yous go out to all of those that attended the event because if you did not come, then the event would not be as much fun, nor even exist, if you did not attend. Additional thank yous go out to all of the friends, family, etc. that came out with the 23 attendees to make this year's event one of the best ratios of kids to adults.

Next year, we will head east, back to Columbia County, to visit another preserve that has not yet hosted an Easter Egg Event. For all of you watching this, or even for those that happen to come across this at random, the plan is for April 22, 2017, the week after Easter. It should be a lot greener and a bit warmer and, as always, a lot of fun!!

Easter Egg Event of 2016

Looking to get out for one of your first Spring events? Come join us and other cachers for an Easter Egg hunt at the Bozen Kill Preserve in the town of Altamont, NY. Find some eggs, find some caches, and find some friends (or make new ones) as you and/or your children look for eggs spread throughout the preserve.

Prizes for found eggs will include candy, toys, geo-items, and other items yet to be determined. Drinks and snacks will be made available. If you want to bring something to share, then please post it so others will know. If you would like to contribute items to be given away, then please contact me.

Bring your friends, bring your children, bring your pets and bring yourselves! It would also be wise to bring the bug repellent and some tweezers as some of us discovered ticks, not geocoins, on our clothing at last year’s event! YUCK!! At last year’s event we still had snow on the ground!. Let us hope this year’s event does not follow suit!

This year we will return to another Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy preserve.

"Dr.Milford Becker cherished his family property on the Bozen Kill just outside of the Village of Altamont and always hoped the land would one day be preserved. Today, the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy (MHLC) is pleased to announce that Dr. Becker’s hope is now a reality. The Conservancy acquired the 156 acre Becker property along with a neighboring 27 acres. These parcels along, with property acquired from Albany County several years ago, create the new 214 acre Bozen Kill Preserve."
