Sneaky nano cache containing only a log. You'll need a pen and some tweezers!
PLEASE NOTE: This cache is visible and reachable from the path; there is no need to climb on, or over, any kind of boundary. It is not necessary to disturb the wall, please don't move any stones :)
Accessible via paths from Middleton Top visitor centre car park, or the village of Middleton By Wirksworth.
Sited on Middleton Moor, above the village of Middleton by Wirksworth, this cache is approximately 340 metres (1,100 feet) above sea level.
Certainly a remote and very exposed site, as you'll soon feel if you stand still for too long in all but the warmest of weathers.
An odd location then, for the mysterious green fence near this cache...
Especially a tall steel fence with it's own mains electricity supply, all sorts of wires running along it, surrounded by intrusion detection systems and security cameras, and a large warning sign telling you not to enter.
The double steel gate is locked and alarmed.
The fence has long been the source of intrigue for many in the area, nobody seems to know exactly what it is.
I thought it would be interesting for visitors to comment on what they think the fence could be, from simple suggestions to wild conspiracy theories !
Please replace the cache exactly as you find it.
Happy hunting!
