Lenzie Moss Primary School was opened in 1968 as some of the children from Lenzie Primary walked around from their building on Kirkintilloch Road to the new Lenzie Moss Primary carrying the school books and materials. A friend remembers walking around the road carrying the classroom globe.
In more recent history (2013), East Dunbartonshire Council decided to close Lenzie Moss Primary and Lenzie Primary and nursery class, and create a new-build school on the Lenzie Moss Primary site combining the 2 schools. The new £11million school will be built for around 560 pupils and is due to open in late 2016 and will be called Lenzie Meadow Primary. I’m sure the school children won’t be carrying the contents of their classrooms for this move.
The geowife went to Lenzie Moss Primary School in the 90's. If you walk up the path from the starting coordinates you’ll see the back of the new school and it’ll lead you up onto Lenzie Moss.
