Please do not park along the highway to access this hide. Traffic is moving very fast through this area. Parking and access is available to the west of posted coordinates and there is a sandy dirt road which parallels the highway. This road is soft sand so be warned, four wheel drive would be suggested if you are going to drive out along the sand road.
In 1867 Lucien B. Smith patents the artificial “thorn hedge" which we know better as _______ ______.
Starting at the posted coordinates, where you should find the remnants of an old artificial thorn hedge and remnants of and old irrigation system consisting of an old concrete ditch, now broken in pieces, and a concrete pipe mostly still covered by sand paralleling the thorn hedge. Two of the hedge holders will point you in the direction of your search. Continue along the hedge and irrigation system as directed by the holders until you find three fallen brothers. The three fallen brothers will point you to your goal, a thorn wrapped jelly jar well hidden. It would be a good idea to keep a close eye and avoid the thorn hedge as it is everywhere. It will pull you down and bite you if you are not careful.
Please re-hide the cache as well or better than you find it so the crazy winds that blow here will not carry it away and to maintain the fun for others. Also please do not move any of the "thorn hedge holders" it is not necessary to make the find, or if you do replace then as you found them.
As with anytime you are caching in the desert bring plenty of water and by the way a tow truck to get you out of the sand is very expensive. Also you need to watch out for the critters that call this their home as some will bite.
Sorry no stamp was available when the cache was placed but I will get one ASAP.
