1pm - 3pm, Cinque Ports Way, Hastings
This is the 'pilot' of our plan! As it's the first weekend of this year's CITO weeks, I thought it would be a good way to get started, giving us something constructive to do. Let's see how many people come and whether it's something that we want to continue with :)
We'll meet at 1pm at the given co-ordinates and spend 2 hours walking the beach, collecting as much litter as we can. At 3pm, once we are finished, we will leave the bags of rubbish in the nearby bulk bins, where Hastings Council will collect and dispose of it all.
Because of the shingle, this event won't be very easy for anyone with restricted mobility, or those with prams, though I won't say it's impossible..!
I will be meeting with someone from Hastings Borough Council on Friday 15th to collect supplies, such as litter pickers, gloves, sharp kits and rubbish bags. Please let me know in your log if you would like any of these things, and for how many people.
I'm not sure about parking, but the bus routes 98 and 99 both stop just down the road, I think the stop is called Cinque Ports Way.
As with last year's CITO, I have no idea how much rubbish we will find there, so be prepared!
Remember to bring any trackables you have, as well as any sustenance you may need :)
Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
