We have arranged with Teignbridge District Council to clear the rubbish following the winter storms on Back Beach and an adjacent beach in Teignmouth on Saturday 23rd April 2016 from 11.30am
Bags, gloves and litter-pickers are being kindly provided, but please bring your own if possible in the hope that many many people attend! Some of the rubbish on the beach is wood which we need to stack in one place, so please bring garden rakes if possible as well! [some rakes will be provided]
Plenty of parking is available nearby [Quay Carpark] which is pay and display - unfortunately Teignbridge are unable to offer a discount on this charge so please arrange to car-share if possible. Leave the Quay Carpark walking the short distance down Gales Hill to the given coords straight on to the beach - pushchairs and wheelchair accessible until one reaches the sand!
Teignbridge have very kindly offered to collect and dispose of all the rubbish we collect, or we can take home the recycling rubbish [tins, plastic bottles, glass bottles, paper, etc] if wished.
Details in a glance= bring gloves, rubbish bags, rakes if possible, a picnic AND SUNSHINE!!! .
