Before I was born and when I was a very little girl, my parents owned a general store very much like this one, so when I walked in for the first time my heart panged with nostalgia and I immediately looked for the jar of Jackson's Lemon Cookies that my parents kept on the counter. Sadly, there were no cookies, but there is a great time capsule to another time.
On this beautiful spot on Avenue B in Hyde Park there was neighborhood store that opened its doors in 1909. You can still check out this little hidden gem of Americana and imagine what Hyde Park must have been like when it opened its doors over a century ago!
