A New Braunfels Pioneer Multi-Cache

A two-stage multicache in the city's old cemetery that will allow you to read an interesting bit of New Braunfels history. At the first stage solve an easy puzzle for the final coords. Though I have never seen the gates closed on this cemetery nor noticed any "times" posted, cemeteries are usually best visited in the daylight hours.

To find the final stage you will need to note the dates of the individual's birth, death and the date he was elected "president."  He also served in a very important conflict in our country's history.

a=last digit in year of death

b=3rd digit in year of death

c=sum of last two digits in year of birth

d=3rd digit in year of birth

For e= find the last two digits of the year in which he was elected president: if he was a Union officer, use the difference, if Confederate use the sum.
