Cay Creek Wetlands Interpretive Center is an excellent example of tidal, freshwater wetlands, which provides a unique opportunity for education and appreciation. The area is rich in diversity- Bay, Cypress, and Oak trees are abundant, as are Palms, Palmettos, and Magnolias. The area provides the habitats for numerous species of animals, including birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and insects.
Enjoy a peaceful stroll on an elevated boardwalk through the wetlands while being able to see the transition into a salt water marsh. Look closely and you will notice the differences in the plant and animal life as it changes from fresh water to brackish waters. Then set a spell on the dock overlooking Cay Creek and enjoy the serenity of your surroundings. Birders are welcome to enjoy the 15-foot tower in the wetlands.

The Cache
Enjoy the sounds of nature here. Keep your eyes open for animals, plants, water, sunshine and a sense of peace as you walk along the boardwalk. Cay Creek gives lots of opportunity for spectacular photographs with the sunshine as your spotlight.
You will need to be well hydrated as you hike and explore nature.
The flowers here may be brightly colored or be hidden with natural camoflauge. Enjoying nature can be done alone or with a friend. This applies similarly to this cache.
You may need an extra hand to water the flowers.
