Geocache Description:

Join Hare Rabbit (JohnOnTheTrail) as he pays tribute to the accomplishments of his friend known as the Tortoise(OestFamily) for

FINDING ONE CACHE EACH AND EVERY DAY FOR FIVE CONSECUTIVE YEARS -

That's more than 1,800 days in a row.

t was over 5 ½ years ago that the OestFamily introduced me to geocaching during our families vacation trip to Maine.   About 6 months later I thanked him by sending a trash talking e-mail about how my cache find total had exceeded his.   His response was, “I don’t care how many you can find in a day, I am going to keep finding one per day and slowly catch up and pass you.”  I did not know it then, but the caching turtle monster had been created.  To combat this slow prodding tortoise it was necessary to create the caching hare.   So was born our Tortoise and Hare competition.

I had no idea we would still be at it over 5 years later, but it has been a lot of fun I must say.   Instead of just hiding a cache for this occasion, I thought a party was in order.   So …..

Please join us on at 7:30 pm Thursday April 7 at the Applebees in Commack (105 Veterans Memorial Highway)

All are Welcome
