As you leave the gazebo'd trail head area look forward into the deep LQ Cove. Soooo many trails to explore and discover! Bring lots of water and snacks if you really go out there. Always beware of desert critters.
This mini mountain always intrigued me as I set out on many hikes back here. There are different ways up - I'll let you decide which path to take. However, the best is the along the spine. Start at the beginning...I'd recommend to clamber up to the spine around the 'Nostril Rock' area at the latest. Otherwise you may be scrambling up a steep incline, making this more difficult than it needs to be.
My GPS was bouncing a little bit, so the coords may be a hair off. I took multiple readings and used an average. Hopefully its not more than 10 feet off either way. Use caution on some parts of the trail....wait, did I say trail? lol No really there IS one up there, really... Some rocks are frail and may give way.
