Geocache Description:

A clean up of an area of Chippenham, known locally as 'The Donkey Fields'.

The CITO is set up with the kind help of the local voluntary organisation: Rubbish Walks Chippenham. The CITO has been given permission to go ahead by Chippenham Town Council.

When: Saturday 16th April 10am-12 noon. Stay for half an hour or the full 2 hours, it's up to you. At 12 noon, we would like to gather everyone back at the event co-ordinates for a group photo with our horde.

Where: The Donkey Fields run parallel to Bristol Road. There are a number of parking spots listed in the waypoints but there is a free carpark at the event co-ordinates. However, you'll have to arrive early if you want a space as it is quite small. If you need to park in any residential streets, please park with care and consideration.

Safety: As with any litter-picking CITO, you assume the risks of picking up other people's rubbish. If you find anything large/heavy/dangerous etc that you are not happy to pick up, record its co-ordinates and let us know back at the gazebo. We can then pass on the information to the council. If you are bringing mini or four-legged cachers along, you assume all responsibility for them.

Waiver: As well as signing the logbook, the volunteers at Rubbish Walks Chippenham have forms for you to fill in so that you are aware of the risks involved. We would appreciate it if you could take the time to fill one out upon your arrival.

Equipment: There will be a selection of grabbers, bin bags and bag hoops for you to use as well as a small selection of gloves. Please bring along any of your own equipment if you have any so that our resources can stretch further.

Other info:  The local Scouts will also be coming along to help on the day. Please be aware that there are no public toilets nearby.

Local caches: Chippenham is quite a caching haven! There are a number of caches a short walk from the CITO area but also some within it. The ones closest to the event are:

Steve's Stumpy Stepping Stone Stash, Little Bridges #310 Donkey Field (Multi-cache), Bristol Road Bug Hotel, Sheldon is better than Hardenhuish! and Hardenhuish Lane.
