This is one of my favorite ravines to hike during the fall...and it was in need of a cache!
Cedar Hill was the place of an early mineral discovery and if you continue down the ravine you'll find the ruins of the old mill. You'll find the spring further up the ravine. At the posted coordinates you'll see the old rock bridge built to span the spring's creek. Cedar Hill was named for the large growth of western junipers found in the ravine and hillside, which were used for fuel and timbering in the mines.
You can park at the posted coordinates, there's a turnaround so you can pull in from and pull out onto Geiger Grade Road. You can also park on turnout just past the ravine on the southeast side of the road.
This is probably best tackled during spring through fall, if there's snow, it'll be tough. The cache is a small camo locking container with a log, pencil, small compass, small piece of cleansed black tourmaline (protection!), few of my glass swag, two stickers, and I think a Lego geocache piece. Please feel free to add small items.
Please be safe, hide the cache well, and do no damage to the area!
Enjoy!
